Chocolate Chili Con Carne

A delicious spicy Mexican dish which is made extra special by the addition of Prestat chocolate!

Ingredients

  • 225g canned red kidney beans
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 medium sized onions sliced into rings
  • 450g minced beef
  •  2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1-3 small green chilies
  • 400gf canned tomatoes
  • 25g Prestat plain chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp of water
  • A handful of chopped parsle
  • Salt

Instruction

  • Heat the olive oil in a casserole, when it reaches a medium heat add the onion rings and stir until soft
  • Now increase the heat add the mince and cook until brown; then lower the heat again and add the cinnamon
  • Cut open the chilies and remove the seeds; then chop them finely
  • Add the chillies, kidney beans and tomatoes to the mince
  • Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water
  • Now stir the chocolate into the meat mixture and season to taste with salt
  • Cover the pan and allow to simmer for 1 hour and just before serving stir in the parsley
