Prestat – proud supporters of Walking with the Wounded1167
Prestat have created a special edition of their award-winning Roasted Almonds, Sea Salt & Milk Chocolate Bar to raise money for the charity, Walking With The Wounded. Prestat, chocolatier to Her Majesty The Queen, will be donating 25p to the charity for every bar sold and will also be donating nearly a thousand bars to keep up the energy levels and the morale of ‘Team UK’ during their race to the South Pole this winter. HRH Prince Harry of Wales is the expedition Patron and a member of the team.
Towards the end of November, three Walking With The Wounded teams – from the UK, US and the Commonwealth (Canada, Australia and New Zealand) – will endure temperatures of -35°C and constant winds for at least 16 days as they try to cover 335km in one of the most inhospitable places on the planet. Servicemen and women with life-changing injuries, from double amputations to chronic back pain and mental injury, will be competing to inspire others and remind the world of the support we owe them.
Nick Crean, Co-owner of Prestat says, ‘We are delighted to supporting Walking With The Wounded. The courage and determination of those taking part in the race to the South Pole is as humbling as it is inspiring. The Roasted Almonds, Sea Salt & Milk Chocolate Bars have won a Great Taste Award and they also meet the team’s relatively strict nutritional guidelines so we hope they give all concerned the energy they need to reach the South Pole before Christmas.’
Walking With The Wounded is a British charity which helps wounded servicemen and women find long-term employment after leaving the Armed Forces. For more information on the expedition, visit www.walkingwiththewounded.org.uk.
