Prestat in the Media352
Rather eccentric. An absolute treat. Handmade. All words to describe not our Prestat chocolates, but co-owner of the company, Nick Crean. Ok, apart from the last one. The Daily Mail has a charming feature about the company, written after a visit to our factory in Acton. We impressed, obviously, despite our lack of a “chocolate river and a candyfloss boat”, probably because such whimsy is limited to fairy tales. But having seen the factory first hand myself, I can attest to the “jolly, passionate people…the smells and the sights”.
The journalist was lucky to see some of the new flavours being developed- keep in your head tobacco-flavoured chocolate ganache, and gin and tonic truffle, and prepare to have your taste buds wowed yet again at some point in the near future.
The article makes mention of the success our new owners, Nick, and Bill Keeling, in turning the company around after a period of struggle a decade ago. This success has enabled the company to flourish, and to embark on plenty of chocolate flavours, and maintain its position as a purveyor of the finest quality, to such people as the Royal Family. Nick lets the journalist in on a terribly- kept secret- that the Royal Household “still orders our chocolates regularly.” He also reveals his love of the chocolate hazelnut cluster, which he eats every day!
“Smart, quirky, colourful, romantic, luxurious, cheerful”. All words to describe not our brand, but the blog writer. Ok, they were talking about the brand. And who could disagree?
